Restore Faded Photos

We all have old photos kicking around which have faded over the years, and most of the time the negatives have been lost. It would be great to get some detail and colour back into these, so we can see them back in their glory.

This happy chap is somebody very familiar to me, taken nearly 40 years ago. The first step in getting it to 'live' again is to get some detail and contrast back. Once that has been achieved, further enhancement can be applied if necessary. Move the mouse over the image to see what a difference this makes.
